Penalties are the most avoidable cost in any business.
✕ A deadline passed and you're not sure what happens next
✕ Your accountant files, but nobody checks the numbers behind it
✕ You registered for corporate tax and haven't looked since
✕ Every quarter is a scramble for invoices and receipts
Late registration and late filing carry fixed penalties, and unpaid tax keeps building a charge until it is settled.
Banks, investors and buyers ask for clean tax records. Gaps slow down a loan, a raise or a sale.
The tax authority can look back several years. The further behind the books are, the harder every question becomes.
✕ Exposure you can't size
✕ Penalties adding up
✕ Deadlines you find out about late
✕ Audit questions you can't answer

Since 14 April 2026, correcting an error in a past return through a voluntary disclosure costs 1% a month on the difference. If you wait until the tax authority has told you it will audit, a fixed 15% is added on top. Errors can be corrected for up to five years after the period ends. Finding your own mistakes first is now much cheaper than waiting for them to be found.
If one UAE company owns at least 95% of others (shares, votes and profits), they may be able to form a tax group and file a single corporate tax return, so one company's losses can reduce another's profits. All members need the same year end and the same accounting standards, and none can be an exempt person or a qualifying free zone person. Some older ownership arrangements can fail the 95% test, so check your structure before you apply.
Invoices between businesses will have to go through an accredited service provider in a set electronic format. Every invoice will be visible to the authority as it's issued, so books that don't tie out will show.

We work with founder-led businesses across the UAE, on the mainland and in free zones. Some have never registered for corporate tax. Some have VAT returns that were filed but never checked. Others have years of books to bring current before anything can be filed. Wherever you are starting from, the goal is the same: every registration in place, every return filed on time, and numbers you can stand behind if the Federal Tax Authority asks.
✓ A clear view of what is outstanding and what it may cost
✓ Overdue registrations and returns brought current
✓ VAT returns filed every period, on time
✓ Corporate tax returns backed by books that tie out
